Dead Pixel
A transistor that has permanently failed to receive electrical power. Remains completely black on a pure white screen.
Stuck Pixel
One subpixel (Red, Green, or Blue) remains permanently energized. Shows as a tiny bright colored dot against dark backgrounds.
Hot Pixel
All three subpixels (RGB) are permanently locked on. Appears as a bright white speck even on a completely black canvas.
How to Test Your Dead Pixel & Screen Test
- Clean your physical monitor screen gently with a microfiber cloth to remove dust or smudges.
- Click 'Start Fullscreen Test'.
- Click the screen or press the Spacebar to cycle through Red, Green, Blue, White, and Black colors.

- Press the Esc key when finished.
Browser API Precision & Limitations
Dead pixels are physical screen defects; this tool displays high-contrast canvas colors for human visual inspection.
Standard note: A passing test confirms your operating system and browser receive valid hardware event signals. It does not replace physical laboratory calibration.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
01.Make sure your display is set to its native recommended resolution in Windows/macOS display settings.
02.Some stuck pixels can occasionally be unstuck by gently massaging the area through a soft cloth or running rapid color cycle software.
03.Check your monitor manufacturer's ISO 13406-2 pixel defect warranty policy if you discover multiple dead pixels.
