How to Test Your Double Click Test
- Set the switch debounce threshold slider (recommended: 80ms).
- Click the left or right mouse test box single times at a steady, natural pace.
- If a single physical click registers two events separated by less than 80ms, the switch has contact bounce chatter.
- Perform at least 30 to 50 clicks to reliably determine if switch chatter is sporadic or frequent.
Browser API Precision & Limitations
A single fast user double-click might trigger within the threshold; test multiple times to confirm switch chatter.
Standard note: A passing test confirms your operating system and browser receive valid hardware event signals. It does not replace physical laboratory calibration.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
01.Double-clicking issues are typically caused by worn mechanical switch copper springs (common in Omron 50M or 20M microswitches).
02.Optical switches (like Razer Optical or Kailh GM) rarely suffer from debounce chatter because they use light beams rather than physical metal contacts.
03.Temporary fixes include adjusting Windows double-click speed in Control Panel or cleaning the switch with isopropyl alcohol.
